Whether you compare Mozart, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, or any other musician, none are exactly the same. I feel that depending on what mood you are in makes you decide what kind of music you want to listen to at that very moment. But do these tones help us when we are studying? Different studies have showed that listening to music can be distracting, and other studies have shown that it moves the brain and makes the material that is being studied "flow" better in your brain, causing the music to be very helpful.
I find it the most helpful for myself to study in a calm and quiet atmosphere. I get the most done when I am alone, too. I do not like to be anywhere besides my own room at my own desk, quite frankly. Sometimes I feel like I need some music to break the silence. Other times, I feel like I would be much more productive if I had no music. For me, I think it all depends on if I am studying or doing homework. Also, what subject I happen to be working on at that time. When studying, I feel that quiet is the most productive for me. If I listen to lyrical music, I find it can be very distracting at times. On the other hand, if I am doing homework, you can almost always find me with some sort of music on.

I have found that picking the type of music you want can be quiet challenging sometimes, and often a very big waste of time trying to pick the music that best fits the mood at that time. To solve this problem, I created a study/homework playlist on my phone so that I will not have this issue. This playlist contains varieties of music genres which I feel gives me the motivation to get whatever I need to done. If I am sick of that playlist, I often make my way over to Pandora where I have numerous different stations that I find fitting for the studying and homework atmosphere.
